James McLaughlin, Seaman Second Class, is now serving on an LST somewhere in the Pacific, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar R. McLaughlin, 534 Hudson Street.
He served with the Marine Corps for six months and then received a discharge due to a knee injury. About a year ago, he enlisted in the Navy.
McLaughlin received his boot training at Great Lakes and was sent to Washington, DC, where he attended gunnery school for four months. His training was completed at Portland, OR.
