Blanche Elaine Meier, daughter of Mrs. Vernie Meier, 535 Grand Avenue West, has enrolled as an Auxiliary in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps and will report March 4 at Fort Oglethorpe, GA for basic training.
Miss Meier, a graduate of the Eau Claire High School, has been employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Company here for the past six years. She will be assigned to the Communications Branch of the service.

She has enrolled in the Midland Radio School where she will take a five-month course of study in Morse Code, radio, and teletype|

The marriage of Corporal Blanche Elaine Meier of the Women's Army Corps and Marvin Ames Woody, Chief Electrician's Mate, United States Navy, took place in "The Little Chapel of Lakeside," San Francisco, CA at 5:30 Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Rogers performing the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Vernie Meier, 535 Grand Avenue West, Eau Claire. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Archie Woody of Abilene, Texas.
The bride wore a street-length dress of white shantung with white net picture hat and a corsage of white orchids. Her bridesmaid was Corporal Ruth Megonegal of the Women's Army Corps. She wore a blue net gown and hat and a corsage of yellow roses and blue forget-me-nots.
The groom was attended by Chester Godslawsky, also of the United States Navy.
After the ceremony, a dinner was served in the Garden Court of the Palace Hotel for the bridal party and friends.
The bride is a graduate of Eau Claire High School and attended State Teachers College. She was employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Company, before enlisting in the Women's Army Corps. She is now stationed at Two Rock Ranch, Petaluma, CA in the Signal Corps. The groom has been serving in the Navy for the past eight years.
|Corporal B. Elaine Meier of the WAC has returned to Two Rock Ranch, near Petaluma, CA, after spending a 15-day furlough at the home of her mother, Mrs. Vernie Meier, of this city. Corporal Meier is in the Signal Corps.|
