John R. Miley

Technician Fifth Grade John R. Miley, U.S. Marine Corps, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Miley, Route 2, has arrived in the South Pacific area, according to word received by his parents.

He entered the service on March 19, 1943 and received his boot training at San Diego, CA and aviation ordnance training at Norman, OK. He received his advanced training at Mojave, CA and then was assigned to a squadron sent back from overseas for regrouping.


John R. Miley, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Miley, town of Union, has recently been promoted to Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is stationed at the Marine Air Base at Mojave, CA where he is an Aviation Ordnanceman in the Marine Air Corps. He entered the service on March 30, 1943.

John R. Miley has been promoted from Sergeant to Staff Sergeant at Mojave, CA, where he is with a Marine fighter squadron. He recently spent a 14-day furlough at the home of his parents here. His sister, Margaret Miley, Yeoman Third Class, spent a leave here at the same time and has returned to duty at the Naval Radio School at Chicago University.
