|Bernard Miller Wins Promotion in South Pacific|
|Bernard L. Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Miller, 620
Cameron Street, was recently promoted from Sergeant to Staff Sergeant as
a radio mechanic with a fighter control squadron of the Thirteenth Army
Air Forces Fighter Command in the South Pacific.
Sergeant Miller arrived at his overseas post in December of 1943 and is authorized to wear the Army's Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon. Prior to leaving the United States, he attended the Army Air Force's radio schools at Chicago, IL; Tomah, WI; and Orlando, FL.
A graduate of St. Patrick's High School in 1940, Sergeant Miller was employed by the Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company before entering the Army Air Forces.
