Russell F. Miller

Robert A. Miller, 18, Seaman First Class, Signalman, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Miller, Fall Creek, is serving in the Pacific area near the Hawaiian Islands on a battleship, according to word received by his parents. He enlisted in April 1944 and trained at Great Lakes, IL.

His brother, Russell F. Miller, 26, BM First Class, is also serving on a battleship in the Pacific Theater. He was home on a short leave last April. He enlisted in February 1940 and also received his training at Great Lakes.

Another brother, Sergeant David D. Miller, 24, was inducted into the Army on January 28, 1942 and received his basic training at Fort Knox, KY. He also trained at Camp Bowe, TX and went overseas in August 1942. He has been stationed in Iceland, England, France, Belgium, and since September 1 with the Tank Corps in Germany.

Russell F. Miller, Boatswain's Mate First Class, USN, recently commended by Admiral C. W. Nimitz, Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet, for outstanding performance of duty and disregard for personal safety, has been promoted to Chief, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Miller of Fall Creek. Russell has been in the service since February 20, 1940.
